Custom Valve Assemblies are application-specific pneumatic packages built in-house at Adams: a valve, the manifold that supports it, the fittings and exhaust hardware that make it work on the machine, the electrical connections that tie it into the control system, and the mounting details that get it installed cleanly.
A valve on its own does not run a line. When the fitting, wiring, and mounting decisions get pushed to the maintenance bench, projects slip. Adams' fluid power team, working out of Tampa since 1960, specs the whole assembly, sources the parts, builds it on the bench, function-tests it under pressure, and ships it as one documented deliverable. Machine builders, plant maintenance teams, and reliability groups across Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic use us for this because it is one part number to reorder, not fifteen.
Adams builds these primarily with MAC Valves (bullet, 46, 82, and 6500-series), and also with IMI Norgren, IMI Bimba, PHD, and Continental Hydraulics when the application calls for it.

Single-Station MAC Assembly
A minimal-footprint build for a customer who needed one MAC valve with silencer, push-to-connect fittings, and clean electrical wired into a compact block. This is the type of assembly that looks trivial until you count the small decisions that have to go right: silencer sizing, port orientation, mounting hole pattern. We spec them once, document them, and ship spares against the same bill of materials next time.

Four-Station Manifold with Multi-Pin Electrical Handoff
Built for a customer who wanted all four pneumatic functions wired into a single bulk connector so the whole assembly could be swapped as one unit during a line changeover. MAC 6500-series valves on a common-supply manifold, brass push-to-connect on the work side, a DB25-style electrical handoff, and a station-ID plate that maps every pin. Ships with a pressurized bench test result on the packing list.

Independent Pressure Control Per Station
The same four-station platform, configured with a regulator and pressure gauge per position so each actuator can be tuned independently on the line. Useful when the assembly is driving cylinders of different bore sizes or dampers that need different holding force. Flow-control adjustment is exposed at the front so a maintenance tech can dial it in without pulling the assembly.

Three-Station MAC Valve Bank
A three-position pneumatic bank on a shared-supply manifold, sized to fit inside a control enclosure alongside the customer's PLC. MAC 82-series valves, shared exhaust with brass silencers, and push-to-connect on the work ports. Field-labeled per the customer's electrical drawing so their maintenance team can trace a stuck valve in under a minute.

Bench-Tested Before It Ships
Every Adams-built valve assembly is pressurized on our bench and cycled through its functions before it leaves the shop. Fittings are torqued, leaks are checked, each valve is verified to shift, and the test result rides along on the packing list. When the assembly arrives at your plant, it is a working assembly, not a box of parts. If a valve fails in five years, the documented build lets you reorder the same spec instead of reverse-engineering it.
Custom Valve Assembly FAQs
- Do I need a full drawing to get a quote?
No. If you have a drawing or bill of materials, send it. If you do not, a functional description works: what the machine is doing, what actuators the assembly needs to run, what air pressure is available, and any constraints on space, environment, or existing electrical. We can scope from there. - Can Adams match an existing assembly we already have?
Yes. If an assembly on the line works and you need spares or a duplicate for a new machine, send us photos and the parts you can identify. We reverse-engineer the assembly, source the components, and build a like-for-like or an improved version. - What is included on the electrical side?
It depends on the application. Options range from bare solenoid leads for the customer to terminate, to DIN 43650 connectors, to M12 field-wireable, to multi-pin bulk connectors (DB25, DB37, M23) that wire the whole assembly through a single cable. We label the pin-out so the maintenance side is documented. - How is the assembly tested before it ships?
Every assembly is pressurized on our bench and cycled through its functions before it leaves. Fittings are torqued, leaks are checked, and each valve is verified to shift. Test results are noted on the packing list. - What lead times should I expect?
Depends on component availability. When valves and manifold pieces are in stock, straightforward assemblies typically ship within a week. Custom-machined manifold blocks or hard-to-source valves add lead time. If a specific date is driving the project, tell us up front and we will scope realistically. - Which manufacturers does Adams build with?
MAC Valves is the primary line for high-cycle pneumatic assemblies. We also build with IMI Norgren, IMI Bimba, PHD, and Continental Hydraulics for applications where the spec calls for a different valve. Adams sources across all four so the assembly gets the right component, not the closest one on the shelf. - Can Adams service or rebuild an existing valve assembly?
Yes. If the assembly is in the field and starting to fail, we can rebuild the affected valves, replace worn fittings, and re-verify the electrical. If the original assembly is under-specced for its current duty cycle, we can also propose an upgrade path.
